Home Town Rome Players - About Us

We started in 2009. Our first activities included Home Town Rome Players Mystery Dinner Theater, a fundraiser for the Lester Public Library in Rome. "Death in them Thar Hills, " authored by Jack Pachuta, debuted on Thursday, Oct. 15th at Lake Arrowhead to a sell-out crowd. $1000 was dontated to the library expansion fund.

Another fun-filled event, The Home Town Rome Players Variety Show was held at the Rome Community Town Hall on Nov. 7th at 7 p.m. The BLUE SKY Band provided entertainment as well as numerous Rome area residents shared their talents with song, dance and comedy. This event raised $1000 for the Adams County Humane Society.

The Rome Country Kickers, a fun line dancing group was started. The instructor, Jeanne Woulf, donates her time to anyone interested in learning dances. The Romettes are senior tap dancers lead by Barb Blair. The dancers shared their talents at the Library Fun Walk, Rome Farmer's Market, The Variety Show and Mystery Dinner and visited several area nursing homes during the holiday season.

Casual script readings have been sponsored meeting at the Chalet. Anyone who attended could choose a part in the play and read impromptu to the audience.

This year, we sponsored a Two-Step night at the Rome Town Hall and will be sponsoring a Variety Show there in August.
